Stand Up On The Big Screen
July 26, 2007
Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks and Sally Field walk into a talent agency and say, “Have I got an act for you”! Today’s show is all bout stand up in cinema. From biographies to popcorn flicks to documentaries, is comedy mainstream enough to make a splash at the box office?
Listener topics include, audience rections to theme comedy nights, can you have too much of a good thing, and an A list comedy feud, if this was 1991.
Finally why superheros are fake and our final British comic spotlight of the month. Here’s a hint, dude looks like a lady.

Who’s Ready For Some Gentrified Comedy?
July 19, 2007
Today’s show begins with an exclusive interview, live (sort of) from the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. Dylan Gadino of punchlinemagazine.com joins Brian for a discussion of the festival as well as a story about the worst comedy club audience ever.
The big topic of the day concerns theme comedy nights? Do they dilute the talent, or give a voice to unrepresented minorities in the comedy world? I’m partial to all Eskimo comedy night!
Also tune in to hear how Brian almost started an electrical fire at 3:00 am, listener thoughts on Patton Oswald, the Comedy Bible, and stand up across the pond, the perfect recepie for fish soup, and another British comic takes the stage. If you don’t know him by now…

Are You Mormons Ready For Some Comedy?
July 5, 2007
Are you an up and coming comic who finds getting started difficult? Well try going through it in Salt Lake City, UT. That’s what today’s guest Sina Amedson has done. Sina drops by to talk about SLC Underground, and offers some great tips to young upstarts looking to book their own shows on what venues to look for, dealing with management, and how to pull in headliners.
As though that weren’t enough, Brian talks about the joy of early morning radio promotion, Kathy Griffen, listener reactions to comedy classes and road hacks, and our first comedy spotlight from across the pond. If it’s not Scottish it’s crap!
