Brian Begins…

February 28, 2007

Have you ever wondered how Brian Mollica started out in stand up comedy and grew to the ranks of mega star? No? Well that’s too fucking bad, because he’s gonna tell you anyway.

To commemorate his 8th year in stand up, Brian takes everyone on the journey of his life, from an obsessed 5 year old, to his time in New York, and finally to being the fat guy on Cash Poker. Please try not to doze off.

Brian shares the wealth a little bit, however, by checking in on the listener comments. Some include, feedback on Rogan vs. Mencia, stand up at the Oscars, and is Dice making a comeback?

Finally, we end the show by spotlighting a comedian that everybody loves, unless of course you’re a foul mouthed bastard.

Podcasting Legend Lance Williams Takes The Stage

February 21, 2007

We interrupt the regularly scheduled program for an emergency news update!  Ok not really, I just wanted stand up to sound importanat for once.  However, it has been an interesting week for comedy lovers as stand up vigilante Joe Rogan accosted Carlos Mencia live on stage during a set at the comedy store.

To discuss this topic as well as a host of others, Brian welcomes in a heavy hitter in the podcasting world, Lance “Big Swa” Williams.  Swa confronts the topic of race in comedy, political correctness, and picks a side in the Mencia/Rogan battle.

Behind the Bricks closes with the full version of Brian’s dad’s dirty joke (complete with accent), a rant about young love, and a spotlight on the greatest stand up comic of all time.

The Best Comics In America?

February 14, 2007

Pop quiz?  What’s half American Idol, half Real World, and all a bunch of bullshit?  That’s right!  It’s Last Comic Standing!  Brian talks about the contest, including pros and cons, his own audition experience, and why the winners seem to disappear so fast.

The listeners chime in as well with their feelings on last week’s comedy interview, impressionists, and why all speech, even hateful speech must be protected.

The rant of the week consists of a creepy conversation between father and son and another listener requested comic who has mastered the art of storytelling.

I Think It Would Sound Something…Like This

February 7, 2007

After the most successful week in Behind The Bricks history, Brian thanks the fans by spending some extra time on listener thoughts and questions.  Topics include Bobcat Golthwait, taking the plunge, kinky sex and genital mutilation.

Brian also welcomes in a true up and comer in the comedy world, 19 year old Joel Fry who in his short time on stage has killed, bombed, and seen an 80 year old man cry.

We wrap up the show with rants on impressionists, Valentine’s Day, political correctness, and a spotlight on a comic legend who’s honest ’til it hurts.
