Real Characters
January 31, 2007
Have you ever felt that you couldn’t face the world as yourself? Well you have something in common with some of the world’s most successful stand ups.
Today Brian talks about character comics. From those who tweak their own personality to those who develop whole new ones, we strip them all down and reveal the child inside.
Listener topics rule the day as well with a harsh review of the original not ready for prime time players and a glowing review of Demetri Martin.
We wrap it up with a rant for all of the animal lovers out there and our final future star of 2007.

Remembering John Belushi
January 24, 2007
Time to call the babysitter because Brian’s rambling again.
On today’s installment of Behind The Bricks Brian welcomes in guest Dylan Gadino of Punchline Magazine. Dylan talks about the state of stand up and which comics to keep an eye out for in ‘07.
A glance at the calendar reminded our host that it’s John Belushi’s birthday, so Brian takaes some time to recognize and remember a handful of comics who were taken too soon.
As though that weren’t enough show, we also have a 2 part phoned in joke of the week, complete with advice on how to deliver a joke when you can’t wait to get to the punchline, a rant of the week so creepy it could have gotten Brian incarcerated, and a spotlight on one of the most original young comics the stand up world has seen in years.

Which Came First, The Leary Or The Hicks?
January 17, 2007
Welcome back to the show. Today Brian tackles the touchy subject of originality. He discusses the importance of having your own voice, and calls out some comics who have bad reputations for borrowing material.
We are also treated to a couple of listener phone calls. Find out how to get back at kids who stare and how Stern lovers and haters alike have learned to live together in the Behind The Bricks community.

The Howard Stern Effect
January 10, 2007
The new year is finally in full swing as Brian already encountered his 1st douchebag of the year candidate, and we’re barely a week in!
Today’s listener suggested topic is satellite radio. How does it benefit stand up comedy, and is it really worth paying for radio? Plus, Howard Stern has now been hidden away on Sirius for one year. Can he still push the envelope now that he has no parameters, and what kind of legacy will Howard leave on the comedy world.
Brian’s rant of the week is an “oldie but goodie” as he rehashes a traumatic experience he underwent in the Lord’s house, and we wrap it up with another comic making waves in ‘07.

New Year, Same Crap
January 3, 2007
Happy New Year one and all and welcome to Behind The Bricks.
Brian decides to wrap up ‘06 by highlighting his favorite comedy movies and albums of the year. Among those mentioned are a brilliant documentary, a brilliant mocumentary a slapstick musical, one of stand up’s best satirists, and of course Brian’s man-crush.
The rant of the week puts an end to any mystery about Brian’s educational and we spotlight a comic who’s destined to be a star this year, provided he puts the guitar down.

Please Welcome Danny Villalpando!
January 1, 2007
It’s been a while but Brian’s back with a jam packed show.
We begin with an interrview with 14 year comedy vet and internationally tourning headliner Danny Villalpando. Danny sheds some light on the business end of stand-up, including cleaning up your act for the corporate world, bombing on a cruise ship, and the 1st installment of the new segment, “Hell Gigs”, that involves a warm beer and a pizza parlor.
The show wrraps up with a rant about people who have too much money and spotlighting a legend who never received the respect he deserved until it was too late.
