Happy New Year

December 28, 2006

This ones not on Brian, but we have to delay the show again. There has been snag on the production side, this should be fixed by the start of the new year. Rather than keep you guys in the dark, I feel it’s important to let you know when there’ll be a new show. Feel free to leave abusive comments or even better call the voicemail and let us know how pissed off you are. We will be working hard to make sure this never happens again and as always thanks for taking the time to listen.

Merry Christmas

December 26, 2006

Disaster Relief

December 20, 2006

It’s an extra jolly holiday edition of Behind The Bricks today and it looks like Brian’s hit the egg nog a little early.

He begins with a look the comedy news of the past week including comedy in the name of Jesus, and Larry the Cable Guy making news in somewhere other than Arkansas.

Then Brian invites Mike, the Simon Cowell of stand up in to review 2 big comedy events, including Comic Relief ‘06.  Hmm, a 3 hour comedy show and almost none of it was funny.  What are the odds?

He wraps it up with a creepy rant of the week that almost ends in a holiday cornholing, and finally he spotlights another listener requested comic who trully performs in the name of God.  Or is it takes God’s name in vane?

Mommy, Where Did I Come From?

December 13, 2006

Welcome to another overstuffed edition of Behind The Bricks.  Today is all about the inside of a comedian’s brain.  Just how do they come up with that ridiculous stuff, and how do they know if it’s funny?

Brian also reads the listener’s comments about last week’s show and offers the 1st of what will surely be several apologies for misinformation.

We wrap it up with Behind The Bricks’ 1st ever listener submitted rant of the week which will remind us that while it is better to give than to receive, receiving cash is best of all.  And finally we spotlight another requested comic who’s known more for being clean than being funny.  Enjoy the show.  You Too!

Let the Festivities Begin

December 6, 2006

Comedy festivals are on the rise, and as educated comedy fans Brian feels you deserve to know what you’re getting into.  Contrary to popular belief, it’s not like Woodstock, although drugs generally flow freely.

Brian takes you through the experience of a comedy festival both from a fan’s and a comedian’s perspective, and tells a comic folklore about the death of the development deal.

All this plus the 1st annual “Sham Comedian” award, Dave Chappelle disappears again, is crack better than bulimia, and a spotlight on one of stand-ups brightest stars that burned out too soon.
